A message from the President of the Board |
 |
 |
We have promises to keep. . .
Recognizing the need for funding for quality public education, this Foundation seeks donations from local citizens, businesses, the State of West Virginia, and nationally. These contributions have brought the Multimedia Collaborative, our community TV station, from an empty storage room to a state-of-the-art learning facility for all the students in Harrison County. We continue to help fund this project and others to bridge the gap between what we can afford and what we want to provide to the students of Harrison County.
To enhance and enrich. . .
Our efforts have led and will continue to lead to new and exciting learning opportunities. The Foundation will enhance education throughout West Virginia by sharing its experience to benefit other schools and the community. We strive to fund projects that have community benefit and will share information and resources with other groups, offering our experiences as a model for others.
With strict accountability. . .
You may contribute to the Foundation in several ways. Financial contributions may be made by cash or check to the "Foundation for Children, Families, and Communities of WV." Through individual donations and business donations, you may receive West Virginia Tax Credits, which provide a tax credit in addition to your donation deduction. We also accept bequests, lifetime gifts, and annuities. These types of contributions offer special tax benefits in estate planning; please consult your attorney or CPA. Note that under federal law, your contribution qualifies for maximum deductibility for income, estate tax, and gift purposes.
For your contributions. . .
Contributions may be designated in recognition or memory of an individual or organization. A permanent, public record of contributions is maintained. Distribution of donations will be overseen by the Board of Directors, who will review recommendations and requests for funding. All expenditures of the Foundation will be used for the enhancement and enrichment of educational opportunities for students. All receipts and expenditures of the Foundation are available for public review and are independently audited.
Sincerely,
Kelly R. Nelson, M.D.
President
